Winter Destination Micro Wedding

Dolores, Colorado

2021

Destiny and Dustin travelled from Texas to Dolores Colorado with a few of their family members and close friends, rented out a cabin and put together the adventure wedding of their dreams. Destiny and I created the timeline together to include the most ideal lighting, timing and backdrop for each part of their spectacular day in the stunning San Juan Mountains.

The ceremony space was located in a meadow surrounded by aspen trees just up the mountain from their cabin so guests were transported in a 4x4 side by side to the snowy ceremony space which even in early February was warm with sunshine and a bonfire.

Every detail came together flawlessly with friends and family all chipping in to arrange decor, install florals and tend to the couples every need. Though this wedding was planned without the help of planner, it was elegant, fun and had so many elements of western tradition and luxury. They even had a custom brand made that they incorporated into their ceremony, branding a wood slab that became their guestbook. In a true southern tradition there was both a wedding cake and a grooms cake that reflected Dustin's passion for hunting. They said their vows standing on a beautiful cowhide and celebrated with Ranch Water Seltzers that they brought all the way from Texas.

The day was drenched in love, relaxed and the weather was perfect. Every moment unfolded organically and nothing felt rushed or stressed in the least.

The evening came to an end with intimate moments next to the fire followed by a sparkler exit and a quiet, slow, last dance to George Strait as the stars began to make their appearance.
